    1. United States Coast Guard (2013 - 2017; on reserve until 2021). Assigned Small Boat Station. Primarily focused on Search and Rescue work. Was part of a cutter team for my final year, assisting with ship checks.
    2. Los Santos Police Department (2018-2020). Completed training, and was a Police Officer II until resignation for personal reasons. Did a short stint in the intelligence division. ((OOC time is about a month, but due to age-ups, character was there longer ICly. I've been in LSPD several times on several characters, so I'd hope that the IC time is more contributory than the OOC time on just this character.))

IV. MOTIVATIONAL LETTER
  • 4.1 Please explain why you have decided to apply for this vacancy.
    To whom it may concern,

I am providing this letter as an explanation as motivation for the position of a Personal Protection Officer with the Los Santos metropolitan government. My name is Seo-jun Kim. I'm a resigned LSPD officer and active reserve United States Coast Guard Seaman. I'm interested in the role of Personal Protection Officer as a way to move forward with my life in a way that is similar to my previous employment. It is my belief that applying for this position will allow me to further the skills already obtained in my previous employment, as well as allow them to be utilized effectively. I'm a good shot, and well versed in the protection of persons, both directly and indirectly, as a result of my employment history. Beyond that, I'm also an exemplary driver, both at a civilian level, and at a response/evasive level. While I'm not the tallest, I also believe in the 'taking a bullet' doctrine, ensuring the well-being of the principal beyond all else.

On a more personal level, I'm looking into this employment in the hopes of both a calmer day-to-day routine, and as a way to get my foot in the door to advancing my knowledge of the local political landscape. While I in no means intend to use this job to further any ambitions of office or otherwise, I am explicitly interested in the goings on of the city government, and how everything works from an outside perspective. It is my hope that as a PPO I can learn about our local ordinances/legislation, on top of maintaining a presence for the protection of anyone who is at that time requesting protective service.

In finality, the reason I'm looking to seek employment with the city as opposed to a private entity, is I have an explicit interest in personal protection for individual subjects. While most security companies cover businesses or patrol residential areas, where I believe I can shine is driving and protecting either an individual or individuals (depending on how assignments work). I am aware that working in such a position would likely require event security as well, and I am happy to perform such duties. But I will acknowledge my hope is that I can be an effective PPO during the day-to-day work/life of those who need protection.

    Sincerely,

V. CRIMINAL HISTORY
  • 5.1 Do you have a criminal record?
    [] YES [X] NO
5.2 If yes to the previous question, please elaborate (or N/A):
    N/A
