    1.8 Comprehensive plan:
Explain the overall plan, projections and goals for your business.

Davis Youth Center aims to be a safe haven for the low income residents of the Davis area. The intention is to give the young people in the area some place safe to congregate, away from the violence on the street. The Center will house facilities such as work areas with desks and computers, relaxing spaces with couches, along with games and refreshments. Right in the heart of the South, the Youth Center is within walking distance from the school and the church. The hope is to collaborate with both institutions to run programs for the Youth Center members. The members of the Youth Center will have access to legal advice from a professional, and they will be given encouragement to integrate into society through workshops and volunteer positions in local businesses.

The first task is to revamp the existing decorations. Previously, the space was used as a gym and a lot of equipment has been abandoned in the building. I will have to hire a company to shift the heavy equipment, and then another to acquire reasonably priced furniture. As the Youth Center progresses, I hope to improve the resources we have available, in regards to faster computers and more modern books.

Once the interior has been set-up, the doors will be ready to open. To make money, we will have vending machines and offer affordable workshops. For example I'd hope to bring in professionals from a variety of fields to teach the young people, and give them help on breaking into each industry.

To start with, the business will be ran by Micaela Fuertes only; however down the line, volunteers and perhaps some paid staff will be welcomed if necessary. The reason I'm applying for this grant is to get the Center up and running. The Youth Center will be a benefit to the wider society, keeping young people away from the street and getting them fit for a working life. Funding will be used to help improve facilities and provide the members with activities.
