ABOUT THE JOB POSITION

We are seeking a dedicated psychologist to join our team within the Department of Health and Welfare, specifically under the Administration of Children and Families. The primary focus of this role will be to address and support the mental health needs of children engaged in our youth programs. Key responsibilities include conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments for families interested in fostering or adopting. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure the well-being and psychological health of children in our care, aiming to facilitate stable and nurturing family environments for our youth. This role requires a deep understanding of child psychology, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to enhancing the lives of children and families.

The Department also strives to deliver an optimum level of well-being and social support by providing numerous welfare programs and benefits to the general public, such as affordable housing, drug rehabilitation, food assistance, and employment initiatives.

MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

1. The applicant must have attained the age of twenty-three (23) years.
2. The applicant must have a legal address in the State of San Andreas.
3. The applicant may not have been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor.
4. The applicant must have a High School Diploma/GED.
5. The applicant must have obtained a minimum of a Master's degree in Psychology from an accredited institution in the United States. A San Andreas State licensing document which allows one to practice as a Psychologist must also be obtained prior to applying.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

1. Applicants should have at least two (2) years of experience working in the mental health department of a hospital, or in another state-run facility specializing in mental health.
2. Extensive experience performing various therapies, especially but not limited to psychotherapy or talk therapy.
3. A valid San Andreas driver's license, or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when required to attend job-related functions.

KEY SKILLS & ABILITIES

1. A high level of cirtical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with OR without supervision is required.
2. The ability to be able to work in a stressful environment and to take appropriate action is a must.
3. The applicant must be in a good physical and mental condition to be able to handle patients under all types of circumstances.
4. Strong interpersonal skills to interact with patients and staff is mandatory.
5. Must be knowledgeable about and abide by HIPAA laws and regulations, and maintain the utmost level of professionalism.
6. An excellent attention to detail with the ability to observe patients and maintain thorough patient records.

METHOD OF SELECTION
